The Executive Director of Springboard Road Show Foundation, Comfort Ocran, has charged young people to stop waiting for opportunities but rather start working to attract them.
Addressing hundreds of participants at the 19th Edition of the Springboard Road Show 2026 at the ICGC Kings Temple in Takoradi, she said: “Enable your eyes, enable your skills and enable your hands,” encouraging young people to see opportunities beyond their current circumstances, develop the skills needed to pursue them, and take action to create value.
Through the analogy, “Don’t be a fisherman waiting for fish. Be a port that enables ships,” she challenged participants not to focus only on the opportunities available to them, but to become people who create opportunities for themselves and others.
Lady Comfort Ocran also urged participants to cultivate the right mindset to achieve prosperity, reminding them that their potential is shaped by how they think. “The sky is not the limit. Your mindset is. If you do not have the right mindset, you will be limited.”
She added that knowledge only works when it is put to good use. “If you choose not to apply the knowledge that you have gained, you will still be limited,” she said.

Building on the theme, Head of Operations at Media Generale, Mr Nuamah Eshun-Famiyeh, gave participants practical tips on entrepreneurship and leadership, stressing that skills alone are not enough.

“The more formally educated you are, the better value you will provide as an artisan,” he said.
He also emphasised the importance of building meaningful relationships alongside developing one’s skills.
“The higher the quality of your circle, the higher the earning power you can make,” he said, encouraging participants: “to be skilled, be visible, be adaptable and be reliable.

Mr Kwabena Oduro Twum, Sales Manager at Absa Bank Ghana Ltd, provided financial education to participants, encouraging them to take steps towards securing their financial futures. “You need to understand the principles that money follows; it is not just about getting the money but about keeping it,” he said.
He also encouraged participants to cultivate saving habits: “A part of what you earn is yours to keep,” he added.
