Ghana Grows is a youth-led program aimed at inspiring young people to discover career opportunities and supporting them in pursuing decent and fulfilling jobs in Agriculture, Agribusiness, and the Agric Technical, and Vocational Skills sectors.

The program aims to change the negative perceptions young people have about Agricultural Technical Vocational Education Training (ATVET).

The program will also offer training, coaching, and education on various opportunities, including jobs within Agribusiness and ATVET and its extended value chain.

The Ghana Grows program is open to young people across Ghana between the ages of 15 – 35, particularly women and people with special needs from both the formal and the informal sectors.

By providing exposure to opportunities within the Agric value chain and delivering work readiness, mentoring and soft skills training to persons within the target group. All these are with specific consideration to young women and persons living with disabilities.

The future of work globally literally resides in the Agriculture, Agribusiness, ATVET sectors and their extended value chains. Various research reports suggest that food was one of the fastest-growing industries in Africa last year and is the space to watch within the next five years. This means there are viable opportunities in the food value chain the youth can explore.

The Ghana Grows program through community and stakeholder engagement activations, carefully uses activities that push the Agric conversation to increase active youth involvement in Agriculture and Agric TVET sectors. Also, through job training and career guidance activities, young people will be inspired to deliberately choose careers and seek jobs in the Agric sector.

Ghana Grows is a co-creation by the Springboard Road Show Foundation in partnership with Mastercard Foundation and Lyme Haus.

Other members of the Ghana Grow consortium include Axis Human Capital Ltd and Meraki Arts Africa.

The programme is being implemented nationwide with a particular focus on 48 districts across all 16 regions in Ghana.
